This is an online event organised by CIArb's Young Members Group (YMG), co-hosted by Chaffetz Lindsey LLP.
Motion
This house believes that virtual hearings should continue to be used by the arbitration community even after public health concerns no longer require them.
This event brings together young practitioners from Geneva, London, New York and Dubai for a lively and engaging debate regarding the future of virtual arbitration hearings. Practitioners will draw on their experience from some of the first virtual hearings held post-COVID to debate whether these virtual hearings should continue to be widely used after public health concerns dissipate.
Viewers will have the opportunity to vote at the close of the debate, as well as to pose questions and make comments during the Q&A session.
The debate will be recorded. However, please note that debaters will take positions to create a lively and engaging dialogue. The debate will be held under the Chatham House Rule and the positions the debaters take will not necessarily reflect the debaters’ own personal views or positions, nor those of their respective firms.
