The webinar presents a Mock Mediation Construction Case (conducted in the Arabic language) addressing the various stages undertaken in a typical mediation case. The event presents the video recording of the mediation case, previously shot from CRCICA (the seat of the Branch). The 5 speakers who acted in the mediation video will then shed light on the important points in the case. Speakers then opens the floor for discussion and interaction with the attendees.

Ahmed was awarded Distinguished Arbitrator Prize 2020 by Arbitrator Int(elligence. He is a regular speaker in international arbitration events organized by various professional bodies such as the ICC, CIArb- UAE branch, GAR and others. He prepared the training course and workshops for the DIAC young arbitrators’ group.
With dual degree in Engineering and Law, Dr. Waly has more than 25 years of experience in Construction Contracts Administration as well as Claims preparation and assessment for projects in Egypt, and the Middle East.
Dr. Waly acted as Arbitrator, Mediator, Adjudicator, Expert or Counsel in several ad-hoc and institutional Disputes under the rules of ICC, Paris, CRCICA, Cairo, and DIFC/LCIA, Dubai. Dr. Waly is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), London, member of the International Court of Arbitration (Arab Arbitration Group), ICC, Paris, member of the International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), A FIDIC Interim Accredited Trainer, a FIDIC Friendly Reviewer of the FIDIC 2017 Contracts, a Certified Mediator and Trainer by CEDR, London, a Certified Expert at the Center of disputes resolution at the General Authority of Investment (GAFI), Egypt, and a Certified Arbitrator at the Ministry of Justice, Egypt, and a member of CRCICA DB committee who drafted the CRCICA DB Rules in force as of August 1st 2021.
Dr. Waly is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University, and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Engineering, the American University in Cairo (AUC), lecturing undergraduate and graduate courses and conducting research in Construction Contracts Management, Construction Claims and Disputes Resolution Methods. He has several refereed Journal and Conference papers published in Egypt, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Singapore, India, and Turkey.
Dr. Waly holds a BSc in Engineering and an LLB from Cairo University; an MSc in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, USA, and a PhD in Project Management from Virginia Tech, USA, and Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from CIArb, London.
Eng. Mahmoud El Saadany is the founder and General Manager of Rights for Project Management Consultancy Firm. He holds dual major degrees in Construction Engineering and in Law. He holds a Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering - Ain Shams University and a Masters degree in Construction Law and Arbitration – Robert Gorgon University, Aberdeen - Scotland and LLB from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University.
Mahmoud is also a Fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) since 2012 and a Committee Member (Membership Officer) of the CIArb Egypt Branch.
Mahmoud is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2005. His extensive experience in the fields of construction, project management, contracts and claims management for 20 years, encompassing positions in various multinational companies, such as Al Futtaim and Turner International. He also participated in arbitration cases in Egypt and served as counselor, expert appointed by claimants and respondents. In addition, his numerous professional certifications qualified him to provide intensive training programs for promising engineers, contract professionals and arbitrators. Dr. Fawzy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo She holds an LLM, Masters in Construction Law and Arbitration from the Robert Gordon University, UK She earned her Ph D doctorate degree in Law from Université Paris Dauphine, Paris She is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, UK (FCIArb).
She has extensive experience in the Conditions of Contract issued by Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs Conseils ( drafting and negotiating contracts, contract law and claims preparation and evaluation She delivers courses in Egypt and the Middle East in FIDIC, construction contracts, procurement and claims She has vast experience in providing contractual services to the different stakeholders in the construction industry working with employers, contractors, consultants and project management firms.
Dr. Fawzy has several publications in relation to contract administration, claims and disputes, FIDIC contracts, World Bank contracts, application of time 'at large' to standard forms of contract and under the civil law, termination for convenience, global claims...etc. Dr. Fawzy is author of the book Practicing FIDIC in Civil Law Jurisdictions Application of Time and Additional Payment Provisions.
Contracts Director, Hill International (Africa) Ltd. As of May 2021, Dr. El Nemr has over 24 years of experience in contracts and claims management, encompassing positions in various international project management firms, such as Bechtel, Fluor Daniel and Hill International. He has also assumed several roles during dispute resolution proceedings in construction projects, acting as arbitrator, expert adjudicator, expert appointed by the tribunal, expert appointed by an arbitration party, arbitrator and dispute adjudication board (DAB) member. He is country representative (Egypt) of the Dispute Board Resolution Foundation, Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Egypt Branch, Vice President of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering – Greater Cairo section. He is the author of numerous papers and a speaker in numerous conferences, seminars and webinars on the topic of construction contracts and claims. He is currently the Contracts Director of Hill International’s Africa branch, based in Egypt and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The American University in Cairo.
