The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). It offers world-renowned training in ADR across the world, enabling successful candidates to apply for varying levels of membership of the Chartered Institute. These membership grades, which can be achieved, amongst other ways, through CIArb Introductory and Pathways training, demonstrate a commitment to exceptionally high standards in private dispute resolution.
CIArb offers training Pathway routes in distinct forms of ADR - Domestic Arbitration, International Arbitration, Construction Adjudication and Mediation Courses. All Pathway consists of three modules. Candidates who successfully complete Module 1 and its assessment can apply for Membership of CIArb (MCIArb), and candidates who also complete Modules 2 and 3 and their assessments and a Peer Interview can apply for Fellowship of the Chartered Institute (FCIArb). Candidates cannot book and take an assessment unless they have booked and taken the corresponding module first.
CIArb’s Pathway training can be used to develop valuable skills in dispute resolution, develop career prospects, as well as join a membership of 16,000 based across 133 countries and supported by an international network of 39 branches.
