The CIArb Branch held a seminar and social reception on 11 November 2018. This was the lead event during the Dubai Arbitration Week, which featured sessions by leading arbitral bodies, legal firms and attended by many professionals. There was 120 delegates at the event, who listened to Serena Cheng QC from Atkin Chambers give the key note speech and senior lawyers involved in the panel debate.

Significant progress on Advisory Centre for International Investment Law at UNCITRALIn 2017, UNCITRAL Working Group III (WGIII) was launched and was tasked with working on procedural reform of the investor state dispute settlement (ISDS) system. From 1-5 April 2024, Ciarb participated in the 48th session of WGIII in its capacity as an observer delegate.
